In the VII edition of the International Religious Tourism Workshops, the Municipality of Ourém decided to integrate the Religious Tourism Congress, that was held annually in November. This transformed the congress in to a one day-long conference. In this way, there was a common moment between the participants in the morning and a division during the afternoon with the continuation of the conference for all the interested, non-participants in the one to one meetings.
The Conference took place on March 7, the whole day with the theme "Experiences, Places and Networks of Religious Tourism and Pilgrimage in Europe". Approximately 1,000 participants were present and was attended by speakers from different backgrounds.
For the first time, we also had a guest destination: Israel. The presentation of this destination was made by the Israeli Ambassador to Portugal, Dr. RaphaelGamzou, and the representative of the airline El Al, Dr. Walter Wacersier.
